Honey

In 2021, we started with honey production and today have several bee hives with krainer bees. The creamy soft summer honey made by our kind and hardworking bees. The bees have collected nectar from willow, raspberries, clover and other summer flowers. If the honey crystallizes, simply place the glass in a water bath at approx. 40 degrees.

Jelly and jam

Every year we collect currants from our own currant bushes and makes a delicious fresh currant jelly. Our products vary according to the seasons, but in the past we have made apple jam with apples from Røa, rhubarb jam from our own garden and self-picked cloudberry jam from Nordmarka. No use of pesticides.

Dried mushrooms

The owner of Svartorseter is a keen collector. He hikes around Nordmarka and gathers lots of nice mushrooms such as chanterelles porcini mushrooms and funnel chanterelles.

Svartorseter mead

In correlation with our 150 years anniversary in 2021, we made an exciting collaboration with Mjødriet in Bergen. They received 100kg of Svartorseter honey and together we came up with a delicious fresh and sweet rhubarb mead. You can read more about Svartorseter mead here or take a look at Vinmonopolet's entry. The mead was made in a limited number of bottles. If you want to test it, we recommend that you contact one of Vinmonopolet's outlets directly. They have the option to order for you.
